Overview

End users are increasingly relying on Wi-Fi (WiFi) connections to reliably deliver premium services, such as video and IPTV, to all endpoints of their home. These Wi-Fi networks are extremely dynamic because, for example, sporadic interference occurs, other users add networks in the same channel or in overlapping channels and the number of WLAN devices continues to increase. These changes have a big impact on the performance and quality of the customer experience (QoE). Therefore today 40% of all malfunction messages are due to problems with the WLAN. The technicians who install and maintain Wi-Fi in the home depend on reliable installation procedures and meaningful diagnostics.


The WiFi Advisor consists of an iPad app and at least one WFED-300AC tester. The WiFi Advisor is the first test solution that meets the specific requirements of installers of all skill levels. He stands for a new, visually enhanced test concept. Its intuitive features allow rapid characterization and optimization as well as the immediate resolution of disturbances in wireless networks in the home, which are subject to strong changes and disruptive influences. The tester shows at a glance the actual power / throughput reserve of the WLAN in the entire apartment and informs the end customer directly and in an understandable way about important performance data.
