High Power Blue Lasers AI-1500

The 450 nm laser AI-1500 is a water-cooled diode laser with 1500 W output power. The diodes are coupled into a 100 µm fiber with a QBH termination. The laser operates in cw mode and can also be modulated with up to 5 kHz. Especially suitable for battery production and othe copper welding applications with lasers.

Properties of the blue AO/AI series

This new generation of blue laser diodes was developed for micro and macro material processing of copper and its alloys as well as for nobel metals. Several high reflective metals have a limited absorbtion in the IR and the green wavelength. In this spectral width the blue wavelength has significant advantages.

By a microscopic and macroscopic inspection of the welding spot the homogeneous liquid phase of the weld pool shows a more wax-like behaviour than the common well known one of metals.

In all types of welding, a possible spatter-free machining process is of great importance. This applies to the actual welding as well as LMD welding and drilling already with a power from 150 W for the NUBURU AO-150. With the 1.500 W version, significantly higher welding depths are achievable and thanks to the beam parameter product of <11 mm * mrad, they can be called unique in the market because of the possibility to use a scanner.
